Good Read...

Got this in one of my emails... a very inspiring one.. Read on...

Don't say you're not important,
It simply isn't true,
The fact that you were born,
Is proof, God has a plan for you.
The path may seem unclear right now,
But one day you will see,
That all that came before,
Was truly meant to be,
God wrote the book that is Life,
That's all you need to know.
Each day that you are living,
Was written long ago.
God only writes best sellers,
So be proud of who you are,
Your character is important,
In this book, you are the 'Star'...

Six and Counting...

A child's dream, not yet a reality, still a dream. A 13yr old boy had a dream to make it big and in the process there has been lot of learning and most importantly with time there was clarity. Clarity of thought, purpose and vision.

2002... The first stepping-stone...
The first attempt of chasing the dream. There have been a lucky few and got through the very first time. I'm one of those who believed luck is defined as the meeting of preparation with opportunity. Geared up myself for getting into the act of preparing for the opportunity. On the D-day everything looked possible until there was a surprise. And I love surprises, it happened I did not make it.

Lesson learnt: I've given my best shot and yet my best was not enough. Results matter at the end of the day.

2003... The second stone....
Got into a job, for killing time and making money. Made the best use of time, time spent in cabs preparing for the big day, making sure not to repeat the mistakes I've done in the past year, shifting gears and giving it a tough shot. Resigned job to chase my dream, and yet one more surprise... I did not make it.

Lesson Learnt: If I had to be a winner I need to think and most importantly act like a winner

2004... The third stone...
Got into another job, to get rid of the guilt of not making it through and had fun. Started my preparation kept it going, gave it a deeper look as to what happened and what I need to do to achieve the results. Ensured that I should not repeat the mistakes I've done, I focused on my weaker areas and tried to get stronger. On the D-day I was not sure, this time I truly wanted to surprise... A GOOD NEWS... however, there was no change, I was getting used to it, A failure again.

Lesson Learnt: If you repeatedly do the same things, you'll get the same results. For different results, act differently with the result in mind.

2005...The fourth stone...
From the lessons learnt earlier, I was truly focusing on what I should not be doing instead of focusing on what needs to be done. Hmm...Gave it a lighter tone this time...not taking pressure and tried to have fun along the journey and had lot of joy in the preparation, however, I noticed my preparation was there but was not complete, still satisfied with the preparation and gave it a shot... And no more surprises for guessing... I failed again… :)

Lesson Learnt: The level of thinking should be raised each time; the world is not the same always. In today's world you need to run to be at the same place, if you need to beat your competition - Run FASTER.

2006..The fifth stone...
Enough is enough... it's time for life to give me it's due and this time I'm going to take it, forget the lessons learnt, forget everything, be a kid, as if I was doing it for the first time. With lots of energy went on with the show, kept my energy levels up. Didn’t worry about the past not worrying about what is to come, just kept going with my preparation. As they say in Telugu, like a true warrior, I decided, "Vijayamo veera swargamo" and went on… There was difference in my approach but there was no difference in the result. I got close, but not close enough to make my dream come true.

Lesson learnt: It’s not enough to get close to the line, what matters is whether you crossed the line or not.

2007...A break from the stone story...
Time for having some fun, taking a different route I thought, I wanted to just take a break from collecting all my failure stones... and just wanted to focus my energy on my ultimate goal. Worked towards it. Nevertheless, kept my experiences and my dream did not let me sleep...

2008...The sixth stone... Now a milestone...
This time, I was not sure whether I really wanted to give it a shot, and just at the nick of time I thought I would give it a shot... I made up my mind and have done a crash preparation or literally no preparation for the D-day… I did not care what's going to be the result...I just wanted to have fun on the run... on the D-day I had loads of fun, enjoyed the show and as I did not bother about the result, the result did not bother me... I collected my sixth stone...
Lesson Learnt: As Tendulkar has said brilliantly - ' there will be stones in the journey, it's important to collect them and convert them into mile stones' and this realization I’m sure will take me a long way...

Over all these years, I would appreciate myself for the Never say die attitude and carrying failure with cheer...
To my surprise I'm sure I will make my dream come true... and dream I'm chasing is cracking CAT...This is not my ultimate goal.. I know I'm here for a bigger reason, just to make the child in me happy, I want to bell the CAT...

Children write letters to God

American Kids were asked to write to God and this is what they write...

And few lines from them really are touching...

Reminds me of my childhood and their innocence is what makes children very special

Everything Passes by...

We always miss out on today, thinking either about what will happen tomorrow or what happened yesterday.

Appreciate the fact that what happened yesterday cannot be changed, and tomorrow we have never seen, all we know is what’s happening now. That’s why present is called present.

Take control over today, this moment, enjoy life never miss out on anything that life has to offer. As we never know Kal Ho Na Ho!!!

"Har pal yahaan jee bhar jeeo, jo hai samaa..... Kal Ho Na Ho"

Time controls me, My fate

Time controls me, My fate,
time is all i want
time is all i need
time is what i have
but time i feel, i never have
i wish i could control it
i always try my hit
I run with time, never overtook it, never i won
but will try atleast to go hand in hand
to win all my comittments
to win myself
one day, i'll take over time
And, will rule my fate

Poetic Resignation

Its interesting I found it on a site:

Poetic Resignation

The name is good, the brand is big
But the work I do is that of a pig
The work or the brand; what is my way?

I don't know if I should stay.

To work, they have set their own way

Nobody will care to hear what I say

My will be NULL, they wont change their way
I don't know if I should stay.

The project is in a critical stage
But to do good work, this is the age

This dilemma is killing me day by day

I don't know if I should stay.

The money is good, the place is great

But the development is at a very small rate
Should I go for the work, or wait for pay

I don't know if I should stay!

The managers don't know what they talk
The team doesn't know where they walk

That's a bad situation, what say?
I don't know if I should stay.

I can go to any other place

But what if I get the same disgrace
I can't keep switching day by day

I don't know if I should stay.

The -ves are more, the +ves are less

Then why have this unnecessary mess

No more will I walk their way,
It's all done, I won't stay.

Thanks & Regards

Manager Response

Reply: What I want to say? (Manager)

The decision is good or decision is bad
Only God knows still I am glad
Keep moving in life that is what I can say

If you feel right go in the same way

May god give you the work, the challenge you want

Anyway there is always a second chance

Chances are there, grab them snatch them
That is what I can say

Keep on jumping companies to get more and more and more....

That will keep you always a fore
(Even to me)

>From my experience I can tell you

Being in software development is like taking hell out of you

You are frustrated since you have no quality work

And you were frustrated because you had quantity work

It's always like that previous job was better than the current one
And expects the new job will be much better than this one

But what you get is a frustration level up to sun

Than you will again send the resignation like this one
This is all what I want to say

Have you completed all the formalities?
Filled the form and got it signed from department humanities (HR)
At last I appreciate your contribution to the company
Even though there was not any....

You will keep a copy of this with you for FYI
Don't feel shy

As I also got it some time back from my old manger say Hi....
That is all what I want to say.

Thanks & Regards
Manager

Of insecurities and egos........

I was discussing about the movie ‘Sur’ with one of my friends recently and then here struck a thought for me.

Sameer (Sam) was one of those who excelled in his own field of Music. He had all the fame and name and was considered to be one of the blessed and best ever in Music.

There were lot of his followers and fans. One of them was Madhavan (Maddy).

Maddy wanted to learn this art from Sam. Sam was one of those who used to have very high moral and ethical values, also very strong willed person.

Maddy on the other hand was of the same kind and one day Maddy approaches Sam for training him in this art. Sam wanted Maddy to prove himself before he agrees to train Maddy.

There were severals tests that were conducted and Sam was finally convinced and agreed to train Maddy.

Sam used to like Maddy a lot for his dedication and creativity and also the improvisations he used to make. He used to be impressed and was proud about it.

Now after daily training sessions Maddy used to practice in his house and Maddy had a very good friend guide and philosopher, Kiran (Kris). Maddy used to practice a lot in his presence and Kris used to give inputs to him.

Kris had knowledge in this field but he did not show much interest. Slowly Kris started giving inputs and Maddy used to pass on to Sam.

Sam does not know that Maddy was taking inputs and passing on to Sam.

Sam slowly feels the pinch. Maddy was slowly getting on top of him and being better than he is and that too at such an early age. He starts feeling insecured and then slowly he develops some kinda dislike towards Maddy.

This was the same Sam who loved Maddy, initially.

Now the questions are

Whats that made Sam feel insecured about?

Why did Maddy not feel the same when he was taking inputs from Kris?

Is there a difference?

What would Sam feel if Kris gave the same inputs to Sam himself?
